Air Conditioners are made up of two fundamental units: the indoor evaporator coil and the outdoor condensing unit. These two units can be configured as a single (or package) unit, as a “split” unit, as a high velocity SpacePak, or ductless split.
Single or package units combine these two components into a single physical unit, usually placed outside. Cold air is transported into your house through ductwork. Single units are more commonly used in commercial or industrial buildings than in homes.
Split units means that there is an outdoor unit (condenser) and indoor unit (evaporator coil). If you’re replacing a system, both units should be replaced to make sure your new condensing unit gives you best performance, efficiency and comfort.
Ductless Split units are slightly different. They are used in residences or commercial locations that do not have ductwork to carry the cold air. The “split” portion of the name indicates that the condenser unit is typically located outdoor, while the evaporator is typically located indoors. Now

SpacePak High Velocity Air Conditioning System units are a central cooling system designed for homes, commercial and retail spaces with no
existing ductwork. The system distributes high velocity air through flexible, pre-insulated 2” (inner diameter) tubing which slides through wall structures and around obstructions to eliminate costly remodeling. All you see are small, round air outlets about the diameter of a CD. Located on ceilings, walls, or floors, the outlets can be easily painted or wallpapered.
